Was accepted as a page of the King in the "Small-Stable" (Petite-Ecurie), in November 1758 (age 13); became officer of the french Guard, colonel of infantry.
His wife was originally from Saint Domingue (Dominica ?) They emigrated to this island in 1791, then to Philadelphia where Louis died.
The property of Conninais was confiscated on 30 April 1794 and sold for 30,000 livres to Gilles Broussais-Lagree. Subsequently it was acquired by Jean Deshais of Saint-Malo who sold it on 19 Feb 1820 to an englishman John Surtees.
His daughter Louise-Marie-Aimee-Sara Surtees married on 10 July 1823 at Taden, Albert-Jean-Francois-Tanneguy du Chastel son of Louis Francois. Thus returning the property to the family.
