Note: dau of Rev William J. archdeacon of Carmarthen
According to the Tucker MS. Mary was the daughter of Rev. William Jones, archdeacon of Carmarthen. In the administration of her goods, which was granted at Carmarthen on 13 Oct 1677, she is described as 'late of the county of the borough of Carmarthen, widow.' Her husband must have died before 30 Aug 1676, as administration of his effects was granted at Carmarthen on that date to his brother William Wogan, the deceased's widow having renounced.
After the death of her husband Mary appears to have lived at Pencerrig in the Parish of Llanpumpsaint, but she also kept a town house at Carmarthen, as the inventory of her effects gives details of her personal property at both places. The following items extracted from the inventory are interesting, as showing the value of her plate and jewellery:-

John Symons was the son of Thomas Symmons of Martel , in the parish of Puncheston, co. Pembroke by his wife Margaret Wogan [ML309]
He eventually married Martha the daughter of George Harries of Tregwynt co. Pembroke.
John inherited Llanstinan under the will of his uncle William Wogan , proved in London on 3 Aug 1710, who apparently died a bachelor. [John was probably still a minor at this date, since the property was left on trust for him-KJW ]
