Note: Catherine was the second wife of James Phillips and the daughter of John Fowler a London merchant. She was a celebrated authoress in her day, who wrote under the name of "Orinda". One of her works was entitled, 'Letters from Orinda to Poliarchus', the latter being a pseudonym for her friend Sir Charles Cotterell. She was, it is stated, particularly courted in the higher circles of society, and when visiting Ireland, to look after her husband's affairs , she received much attention from the Duke of Ormond.

Identification Number: MB320

Note: no issue

Edward Wogan appears to be the only child of Lewis, other than Anne [MB323], who reached his majority.

Born on 24 April 1674 he was educated for the Bar, and was admitted to Gray's Inn on the 27th June 1694. According to the Tucker MSS. he married Mary, the daughter of Sir Hugh Owen of Orielton.

[Note that Edward is not mentioned in Lewis's will despite being the eldest son - does this imply he predeceased his father ie dead before Mar 1702?- KJW]
